Highlights:
- French joins Cyera’s growing list of supported languages, expanding our global data protection reach
- LLM-powered classification ensures deep, accurate insights across structured and unstructured French data

Why Classification Matters More Than Ever
Data is everywhere - and growing faster than ever. But without knowing what data you have and where it lives, it’s impossible to protect it. That’s where classification comes in. It's the foundation of any data security strategy, helping organizations gain visibility into sensitive information, meet regulatory requirements, and reduce risk. As businesses expand globally, data often exists in multiple languages -making accurate, multilingual classification critical for achieving consistent governance and control.
Cyera’s data classification engine just got smarter-and more international. With our latest release, French is now supported across Cyera’s classification capabilities, helping organizations protect regulated data and reduce risk in one of Europe’s most tightly governed data landscapes.
What’s New in Cyera’s French Language Support?
This rollout brings a robust set of capabilities designed to classify, contextualize, and protect French-language data at scale:
Built for Global Scale
We’ve implemented the infrastructure to control and scale language expansion, ensuring consistent, high-quality classification as we add more languages across regions.
Built for Real-World Use in the French Market
Supporting data classification in French isn’t just about translating terms or checking boxes. It’s about understanding the regulatory identifiers and business norms that organizations must comply with when handling data belonging to French citizens or operating within France. Cyera now recognizes key identifiers like the numéro fiscal (TIN), NIR, CNI, and SIREN, but more importantly, we’ve built the intelligence and context around how that data appears in practice—ensuring organizations can meet compliance needs and secure personal data in the language of their day-to-day operations.
This is part of Cyera’s broader strategy: to equip global companies with native-language classification that reflects regional compliance requirements and real data usage, not just theoretical coverage.
Multi-Level Classification
- Element-Level: Recognize OOTB data classes like name, address, credentials, and financial info-in native French.
- Object-Level: Classify entire documents written in French or mixed with English for full content context.
- Context Support (structured data): Detect identifiability, role of the data subject, and protection level-ideal for meeting compliance and governance needs.
Smarter Learning, Now in French
Cyera’s LLM-powered classification has taken a major step forward with native understanding of French and mixed-language documents. This means security and privacy teams can now detect and protect PII and sensitive business data in the language it’s written—without needing to reformat, tag, or translate. This is especially important for global enterprises working in French-speaking markets, where accurate classification of internal documents, contracts, and IP is critical.
And we’re just getting started.
- Business Association detection is coming soon, enabling Cyera to identify relationships between entities (e.g., customer and account number, patient and treatment) across files. This means richer context, better risk insights, and stronger data protection.
- ID-level learning is already available in French, meaning Cyera can recognize new identifiers and sensitive terms without configuration.
And soon, element-level learned classification will also be available in French—enabling detection of patterns and data categories without any manual setup from your team.
Why It Matters
As data protection regulations tighten across Europe, and organizations work across borders, language-aware classification is no longer optional-it’s essential. Cyera is committed to empowering global security teams to take smart, fast action on the data that matters-no matter where it lives or what language it speaks.
This rollout marks a key milestone in our global classification journey, and it’s just the beginning. With French now live and more languages on the way, we’re building the future of intelligent, multilingual data security-at scale.
French support is rolling out gradually-stay tuned for more languages coming soon.
