Ariel Szarf is a Security Researcher at Cyera, specializing in threat hunting, incident response, and threat intelligence across cloud and SaaS environments. He served in the IDF's Unit 8200 as an officer, team lead, and section head. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science, with his graduate thesis focused on algorithms. He later worked at Mitiga, focusing on threat hunting and incident response, and has spoken at several industry conferences showcasing his work, including SANS CloudSecNext, BSides LV, and CloudNativeSecurityCon. At Cyera, his research focuses on how sensitive data gets reached, including through malicious third-party applications and database plugins, turning those blind spots into detection methods, alongside AI-powered investigation for security teams and threat intelligence applied at scale to data security.
