Challenges
Scarborough Health Network runs multiple hospital sites in Scarborough, Ontario, and its security team works to raise the security posture across all of them. In Imran's view, many organizations know where they need to go but start without the foundations to get there. Scarborough was no exception: there was no full governance level, no full data loss prevention, and no data classification. The team did not yet understand what was in its environment or what its overall posture was.
Solution
The team brought on Cyera to understand what was actually in the environment. What it revealed was a lot bigger in scope than the team had initially thought, and those findings became the case Imran's team took to upper management: this is what we found, this is what we plan to do, will you help us out. Three years on, the team has worked through many of the questions newer programs run into, from MIP labeling and tagging to tracking and remediation.
Results
Scarborough Health Network now understands its environment and posture, and its priority is to get its baseline security where it wants it, built to be future-proof. At a Cyera customer event, Imran heard newer customers raising the exact same problems the team had already worked through. "Save yourself the two-year headache.
